Six (6) county juvenile courts have been awarded one-year grants up to $50,000 per year to work in partnership with Annie E. Casey Foundation and the Department of Youth Services to engage in training, coaching and technical assistance designed to advance reforms and measure progress.  Final progress reports from each project will be posted by June 30, 2021.

JDAI is a results-based initiative that establishes and tracks performance measures.  All data is disaggregated by race, ethnicity, and gender to monitor for disparities in the juvenile justice system.  This primarily has been completed through the collection and analysis of detention data.  Each juvenile court is different, and at different stages of data collection and analysis.  Through the Ohio Probation Transformation (OPT) efforts, the OPT sites have partnered with the Annie E. Casey Foundation (AECF) to dive deeper into the data measurements to reduce unnecessary compliance driven probation approaches that too often lead to deeper youth penetration into the justice system.  Link to Ohio Performance Measures.   OPT sites have started with the most critical and available data elements to begin their probation transformation efforts.
