OYAS (Ohio Youth Assessment System) Training Registration Site

Ohio Youth Assessment System (OYAS) training is currently being conducted using a virtual training format. Participants will be required to participate in four half day training sessions.  All classes start at 8:30am and end at 12:30pm daily. The OYAS training will provide an overview of all five assessment tools: Diversion, Detention, Disposition, Residential and Reentry. The training will review the principles of effective classification. A combination of instruction and practice will be used to develop participants ability to administer the OYAS.   Participants must attend all four half-day sessions in their entirety and pass a test to be certified to use the OYAS assessment tools. Certification on the OYAS instruments is good for a period of 3 years.

This training is intended for staff from DYS, Juvenile Courts, and Community Corrections Facilities. Other programs/providers will be considered, if requested, on a case-by-case basis.
